Cultural Organizations
The Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan
The Economic Club was founded in 1943 by Lewis Upton - one of the two founders of the Whirlpool Corporation. Since then, it has grown to become one of our region's most prestigious clubs - boasting a membership of nearly 1,400. These members gather five or more times a year to enjoy some of the country's most celebrated speakers. The following is just a brief list of some of the speakers the club has attracted:
