Golfing In Michigan's Great Southwest
Golf is truly a local passion. Three private and 17 public golf courses in our area serve our local golfing community well. Additionally, every August for the past 25 years Point O' Woods Country Club plays host to the Western Amateur Golf Tournament. The finest amateur golfers in the world put this tournament on their schedules because of the prestige of the tournament, and the challenge of the Point O' Woods course. Avid golf fans have watched such notables as Curtis Strange, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson take home championships at the Western Amateur before going on to star on the PGA tour. And yes, there are several miniature golf courses, too, for youngsters!
